Brainspotting is a powerful, focused treatment method that works by identifying, processing and releasing core neurophysiological sources of emotional/body pain, trauma, dissociation and a variety of other challenging symptoms. Brainspotting is a simultaneous form of diagnosis and treatment, enhanced with Biolateral sound, which is deep, direct, and powerful yet focused and containing
Brainspotting (BSP) was discovered in 2003 by Dr David Grand, who developed the method as an effective form of psychotherapy that makes use of the field of vision. Brainspotting makes use of the natural phenomenon of eye position, in that “where we look affects how we feel”. Brainspotting taps into the body’s self-scanning and self-healing ability. It uses the field of vision to locate eye positions that correlate to inner emotional experiences. After these eye positions, or Brainspots are located and eye-fixation is maintained, healing and resolution of issues that are held deeply in the non-verbal, non-cognitive areas of the neurophysiology occurs. Brainspotting can be used to find and strengthen our natural resources, resilience, enhance performance and creativity and heal trauma. It can be integrated in a wide range of psychotherapeutic approaches.
